On December 03, 2015 Institute of Science and Technology Yenagoa headed by Professor Steve Azaiki, entered into Agreement with Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas. The purpose of the Agreement is to run degree programmes of Ukrainian University in Nigeria and to recruit students in Nigeria to study in Ukraine.

Programme Content

 
The Joint Ukrainian language Foundation Programme is an 8-weeks intensive course designed for first year Nigerian students whose language proficiency scores are insufficient for direct entry (even if further training in University will be provided in English) and who require additional academic support in transitioning from high school in Nigeria to their studies at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

 

Key Features

  • The courses are intended for students who are starting undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes in September 2016.
  • Courses run for 8 and involve 18 hours of class time per week, Monday-Friday.
  • Students taking these courses do so as a compulsory condition of their degree course at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

This is an intensive training course so you are required to fulfil a minimum attendance requirement of 80%. Please ensure you apply well in time because you will require later get a student visa in the Embassy of Ukraine to continue your undergraduate study in University.

Documents Required for Admission:

 

  • Application Form;
  • Certificate/Diploma (copy and original);
  • Academic transcript, copy and original (included marks and academic progress);
  • Birth certificate copy;
  • Passport copy (page with photo);
  • 12 photos (3,5х4,5 cm color in mate);

Documents mentioned in clauses 2 – 5 must be verified according to the legislation of the country they were granted in, legalized and authenticated under the established procedure, if nothing else is contemplated by the international treaties of Ukraine.

All above mentioned documents (and some others in additions) are compulsory to apply and to get student visa in Consular section of Ukrainian Embassy when it will be time to get visa to go study in Ukraine.

Since it should happen ONLY upon successful graduation from Intensive Ukrainian language Foundation Programme with us in Nigeria, to be admitted as a student it will be enough to provide us with copy of Passport, Birth certificate, WAEC Certificate (if any) and photos.

The programme  is worked out just to give students basic knowledge of Ukrainian language. The student who attend all the classes, carry out practical and home tasks, do not face any problems with studying in this programme. Students taking these courses do so as a compulsory condition of their degree course at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.

Yes, you can apply but after 2 years of regular stay in Ukraine as per Ukrainian Law.

Yes, they are valued and recognized globally.

What is the visa invitation letter for education?

The invitation letter for education is the official document, which is processed by the department of passport-visa service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. It confirms that the student is admitted to a particular University. It specifies your passport with details and the full details of the University. This invitation support letter is required by the Ukrainian Embassy to stamp the visa on your passport. Generally, it takes around 2-4 days for the visa invitation to be processed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. You need to apply to the Ukrainian Embassy for a visa during the validity of the invitation issued.

What is the migration card?

The migration card is the document which testifies that the student has crossed the border of Ukraine. It is an obligatory document for the further processing of the student registration and hence is an important document. Without the migration card the registration on the territory of Ukraine cannot be done and the student would be deported back to the home country. The migration card is handed out by the flight attendant on the plane or is also available at the airport on arrival at the immigration department. The card consists of 2 identical parts, which are necessary to fill. At the immigration of the International airport, the immigration officer stamps the both parts of the card and retains one while the other part is handed over to the student. Before leaving the immigration desk, it is important that you check that you have received the stamped part from the officer. It is important and obligatory to retain the migration card till the departure from Ukraine.

Will my parents be informed on my academic progress?

IST Yenagoa will constantly supervise the process of studying and will receive the information on the student’s academic progress from University-partner on a regular basis and will provide it to the students’ parents.

When is the beginning of vacations in the Universities in Ukraine?

For the degree course (4 years), winter vacations last 2 weeks from the last week of January till the first week of February every year. Summer vacations are the same as at the preparatory faculty – from July, 1st till August, 31st every year.
