Welcome to the School of Education & Professional Studies is an innovative school with an aspiration for a strong research culture and a reputation for providing responsive solutions to diverse educational needs of Nigeria.
The School houses three innovative and multidisciplinary research centres: Centre for Academic Leadership, Teaching & Learning Competence, Centre for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Centre for School Leadership & Administrators, which engage in research and scholarship of local and national significance.
The School specialises in comparative education, lifelong long learning, foreign language, and professional development for teachers and school administrators. The goal of the School’s professional studies’ programmes is to meet the educational needs of working adults, organisations, and employers.

Department of Education & Lifelong Learning
Welcome to the Department of Education & Lifelong Learning, an open and friendly Department, committed to excellence in research and teaching. The mission of the department is to advance human flourishing and social justice through education and lifelong learning.
The department provides innovative short courses that aimed to assist the learner to become aware of and prepared for those aspects of a teacher´s professional practice that extend beyond the immediate concerns of subject teaching – covering topics such as inquiry-based learning, special educational needs, class management and the teacher-pupil relationship, Safeguarding children, and Literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
The department’s lifelong learning programmes are designed to ensure access to higher education opportunities through developing and supporting stimulating, high quality and flexible learning.
The department’s three research groups, Centre for Academic Leadership, Teaching & Learning Competence, Centre for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Centre for School Leadership & Administrators, have aspiration for national reputation for the quality of their work.
Department of Languages & Community Cohesion
Welcome to the department of Languages & Community Cohesion. The Department of Languages and Community Cohesion is a diverse, multilingual department which brings together students and scholars who share a fundamental interest in using language effectively, and understanding how languages are used in a variety of social and professional settings.
The mission of the department is to promote the use and understanding of languages and offer courses that promote community cohesion. The department would provide a wide range of short and professional development courses to students, teachers and businesses in languages such as English, French, Germany, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.
Department of Foundation Studies
Welcome to the Department of Foundation Studies at the School of Education & Professional Studies. The aims of the courses within the department are to allow the students to develop as individuals and progress on to further avenues of studies, training or employment.
To that end, the department will provide students with an individually tailored program and learning plans to step towards work or further study. Students will have many opportunities to develop their skills, knowledge and employability levels with a foundation course at the Institute of Science and Technology.
